Animals Move By Kate Hawkins

Animals Move is a Pilates workout for all children of all ages. This book is a collection of 25 Pilates exercises adapted for children and taught through beautiful illustrated animal movements.
The exercises are easy to follow and understand; children copy the animals bending, balancing, stretching and rolling. There are short, easy to read, written descriptions, with stick people diagrams.

Children love this book! And so do parents, carers and professionals. It has been tried and tested many times in homes and in schools. All agree the motivating movements improve physical and emotional wellbeing.
As a primary school teacher, I have always known exercising the body and the mind is vital for my children. I decided to combine Pilates with my knowledge of child development to write a book designed to improve fitness, concentration and well being for children of all abilities.
These exercises improve fine and gross motor skills, posture, alignment, flexibility, balance, coordination and core strength. They are also very effective for well-being and can be used to teach emotional regulation.

The right sequence can change moods from distracted to focused. From frustrated to cooperative. From anxious to calm. Recognise how you feel and then choose the animal exercises to help.
Read the book together and roll like a hedgehog, sway like an elephant and breathe like a panda. Exercise your body and your mind.
Feel happier, calmer and stronger.
